Parody Video

For my church's christmas service this year, I wanted to make a fun light hearted video that would showcase the high school class that I teach.

There is this acapella group on youtube called Pentatonix who is really good. Below is probably their most popular video and it's what I want to model my video after. I basically want to take 5 of our kids and do exactly what they did. I plan on shooting some of it on my steadicam and some on a monopod. None of it seems to be from a tripod. Also, they will be lip-syncing

I'm still scouting out a location, but my plan is to actually do Go Tell It On the Mountain (below). The idea, to use people that aren't going to be in the original 5, is to actually make them choir members with robes about 3/4 of the way through the song (which I think will end up being pretty funny). My question is, should I shoot both the choir and the 5 singers at the same time? I don't want to be pressed for time and I want to be able to take my time and get the shots I want. I could easily do it on a second day, but I'm concerned that the lighting will be different. Is that an issue?

Also, in their original video, it's quite cloudy outside, which seems idea. Any suggestions of when I should shoot this (time of day). I assume right before dawn, but I'm worried about time.

Any other suggestions for this would be fantastic!
