Finding 1 ¼ inch pipe in the UK?
 

I’m looking for somewhere to buy Speedrail, 1 ¼ inch scheduled 40 aluminium pipe here in the UK or if not the EU. It’s been a struggle and as of yet I’ve had no success, it’s not something that the usual metal suppliers have in stock and I don’t know what the cost of ordering from the US will be but I doubt it’s pretty.

Has anyone sourced any of this pipe here in the UK or know of somewhere they think I could try?

Imperial sized pipe was phased out here years ago. Can you not use the nearest metric equivalent?

Hi, the nearest equivalent that’s commonly available here is 1 and 5/8 inch 10 gauge tube but it creates problems for me as I’m building clamps and fittings around it and they will then be bound to those dimensions, the tolerance are also terrible on the tube for some reason with the ID being up +/_ 3.5mm.

If I really cant find it anywhere I’ll see if I can find something in the right ballpark with better tolerances but it’ll be a compromise no matter what.
