Power Supply?

A little while ago, I asked about a power supply for a JVC GY-500DV camera that I could get for cheap like borscht. I also posted on the Music thread that my IBM laptop kakked, leaving me with... you guessed it... a power supply. The JVC needs 10.5V-17V and 3.5A, regulated. My IBM power supply puts out 16V and 3.36A. It doesn't say whether or not it is regulated, but I assume that it must be, since it is a dedicated power supply for a high-tech electronic widget.
What is the general opinion?
Can I use my IBM power supply, with an appropriate DIN plug to match the JVC, to power my hopefully soon-to-be-in-hand camera?

I think you will be okay as long as you properly connect the correct pins when making the plug conversion. From a rating standpoint, you should be okay. The regulation should be there because computers are very intolerant of varying supply voltage. My HP tower had a weak supply that kept cropping up as corrupted hard drive data. The tip off was that I could sometimes hear the change in rotational speed of the drive under load which told me the supply was loading down.

Good luck,

Thanks Greg...
I won't be connecting, I will be asking people who know electronic stuff to connect, but your point is well taken. I hope this works. man, I would love to get shooting!
