What is 60i recording?

I was searching a few places, and here....so what EXACTLY is 60i recording? Does the camera record 60 fps? What?

Chris Hurd January 28th, 2006 07:44 PM

Sixty interlaced fields per second. Two fields make a frame, for thirty full frames per second. Fields are separated in time by 1/60th of a second so it is referred to as 60i.
