Free HD codec?

Does anyone know of a free HD codec? We are using the cineform connectHD right now, but that is $200 a pop and we have already bought 10 licenses. We basicly are just looking to be able to render vegas files and then encode with procoder. We own licenses for Premiere too, but the HD codec you can download for that, stopped working in procoder and vegas. We need to load about 10 more machines to be able to render and encode but don't want to drop the cash if there is no need to. I am not afraid to pay too, so if someone knows of a cheaper codec I could use that too.

if FREE is the only requirement then use uncompressed AVI or QT (none) or Qt animation ...

you can download the BlackMagic codec for free at decklink's ( uncompressed 4:2:2 , 8 or 10bit )
also if you do use BM Vegas doesn't like blackmagic AVI's so be sure to encode as QT (.mov) using BM ...

you should be able to use the sony YUV codec and procoder should be able to decode it - try 1 min test ...

you can load in the free trial version of connect HD and leave the avi decoder installed when it expires ( it will ask you when you un-install cinnect HD about leaving the decoder ) ..and it should decode/read files for procoder and other software ( AE, Vegas, premiere -again it will only read not encode) ..
if you do not leave the reader installed the uninstall will remove the cineform codec that came with V6 ( re-install it if that happened) ..
