Jay,

Please clarify your statement. You can capture via firewire, or you can't? Firewire is the normal way to capture.

Capture

Thanks Mike,

Here is the setup: Asus K8N-E, Athlon 64/3700+, 3gb DDR, WD Raptor drives, Siig Firewire 800 M-64, 4 pin to 9 pin Siig cable, XL-1, Adobe Primere 6.0

I am new to this camera so I could be making improper configuations. I open up AP with default settings, turn the XL on to VCR, open AP go to project, Capture movie, the tape rolls and I can view through the source window. The control device is still the XL-1. At this point it seems that all I have is another viewing screen other that the view finder on the camera as I have been unable to open the file on the hard drive and plug it in the source window. While I have named the file and it appears to be on the drive, but when it is in the project window, and I grab and move over the source nothing! Yet I can grab the file that came with the cd for Classroom on a disk and no problem. It would seem to me that once the capture is made I should be able to control using AP and manipulate the files location.

Any advise will be helpful and apprciated, Thanks Jay
