Helmet Cameras ?

I need a camera that is over one mega pixel and is small enough to be place on the side of a helemt.

Another option i was thinking of was to buy a lens, or a cctv camera, and conect it to a cheap mini dv camera via RCA cable.

If has anyone ever done something close to this or knows any more than me ( not much ), any help would be great.

You should look at this current thread for more info.

Also do a Search on "helmet", and you should find more on this subject, as it is a frequent question here.

At 0.3456 megapixels, the DV standard doesn't fulfill your resolution requirement.

You might be able to find a small 1+ Mpixel camera through more technical sources like machine vision trade promotion literature. Check out Vision Systems Design, a magazine that you can subscribe to for free (online or in print through the mail). I find the advertisements highly informative, good for keeping up with what technologies comprise the current state of the art.

As to frame grabbing/storage of the images this little camera picks up, good luck--you might be looking at a minimum quarter million dollar investment for that kind of system.

One the off chance you're looking for a still camera, the Canon PowerShot Digital Elphs are nice 2.0+ Mpixel cameras that will be small enough to tape down to a helmet. (You'll still have to reach up and trigger them as normal...)
