Exporting Videos

I have a lot of videos downloaded to my computer and want to be able to play them on the computer, but watch them on my TV. I have a Sony DVMC-DA2 converter and connect that to my computer via firewire. Is there a way that I can send my videos out through the firewire and connect the converter to my tv to watch them? Any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks!

I think you will have to play the videos from a NLE of some type. Try using the Windows Moviemaker built into WinXP. Since your not editing it should play out ok. I'm not sure about other programs, other than NLEs.
