Videographer and Photojournalist
So what is the difference between Videographer and Photojournalist.
Is there? What is your definition of both? thanks Scott |
A photojournalist may or may not be a videographer, but when he or she is a videographer, they're only one specific kind of videographer. Some photojournalists are videographers and other photojournalists are photographers. Not all videographers are photojournalists (other videographers might be wedding videographers, corporate / industrial videographers, etc.).

A photojournalist is a documentary photographer working with a still camera making images for editorial use or covering breaking news. |

More to the point, these days when someone shoots a 'package' it is like a ultra-short video documentary, unlike spot news or hard news. I think that's how the tv stations have come to use the term photojournalist. Especially if you are the reporter and camera operator as is the case in some smaller market stations. -gb- |
