new matte box solution

Hello all,
I just wanted to let you know, that there is a new affordable mattebox solution out now. Everybody, who´s interrested can have a look at www.geardear.com and everybody is invited to make his or her suggestions, because it´s a work in progress. You know best, what you need - what filter sizes you use - and what you want in the future...
Gerhard
PS: I just can tell you: it works!

Those look really interesting... but he needs to clean his typewriter and get a new ribbon ;-)

K. Forman June 26th, 2006 01:46 PM

What is the price range?

Gerhard Hirsch June 26th, 2006 01:56 PM

Hello Boyd,

there is only one old typo left, the costs of development have been soooo high...

...but in filmbusiness there´s always a solution and you have to improvise sometimes...

...but thank you for your first reply. Especially the first words...;-)

No other wishes?

K. Forman June 26th, 2006 01:58 PM

A price would be nice...

Gerhard Hirsch June 26th, 2006 02:02 PM

Hello Keith,
the price range is depending on what you want, because these babies are modular style, you can add, what you want, rotating, vertical, bigger (4x5.65") or smaller (4x4"). And if you go to ready-to-use-packages, you have only to decide: 1, 2, or three stages, from around 200$ to around 340$.
But have a look on the website www.geardear.com , and see the pictures. I think, it says more than words...

Gerhard Hirsch June 26th, 2006 02:12 PM

Keith: Is it complicated to find the prices of the pieces? Please let me know, one of the reasons I´m posting here is to find out your wishes and changes. It takes time for me to answer, because it´s not my native language...

I saw the site, and saw the two options- 4x4 and 4x5. I clicked on 4x4, saw the exploded diagram, and a link to download a form to email in for a price.

I'm just interested in where the price range lies. It seems to be more thought out than the Indie matte. and even thouse are in the $200-$300 range I think. A lot less than the Century, but also nowhere near as functional.

And going back, I checked a couple more pages, and found the prices. Thanks.

Hello all,
thank you for your huge support for our mattebox-project. I just wanted to tell you that the awaited clip-on lensmount for the DVX100 and the HVX200 is now available. See it at www.geardear.com and tell me what you think...
Hope to hear from you...
Gerhard
