aeriel filming... vibration issues

Hi guys

we are trying to film using a wing mounted camera on a cessna 185 float planebut we are getting vibration on the footage. Does anyone have any idea how to reduce vibration... we are using a small Sony HC3 HDV camera. Also can anyone tell me if it's possible to change the frame rate on the Sony z1? I've been told that you should should with a lower frame rate for aeriel.

kinda desperate for help as am waiting to depart on an aeriel film trip.

thanks
annika

Vibration issues like this can usually be dealt with by NOT having rubber or similar isolation in the camera mount. This goes against common sense but serves us will on race-car mounts. The more rigidly the camera is attached to the frame, the less chance of creating harmonic resonance of the mount. This probably won't work if the camera has an optical IS system.

The other option is a fully stabilized (and very expensive) mount.
