Lighting issue or just makeup

Hello!

I tried to find the solution on this site, but i endup learning some other thngs rather then wht i was looking for ... anyhow, heres my question ...

(I'm new to this feild so pls ignore my lack of understanding)

I've too shoot a new spell of talk show, which is already on AIR ... all the previous episodes didn't had the nice lighting, which consumes alot of time on post for CC ... and my most concerned part is host.

In real life she has a very slim face, but it alwaz apears quiet big on camera, what i want to knw is, this thing can be controled though Makeup or i hve to do some kind of special lighting ?? or there is some other way around ???

If the answer is LIGHTING, or other way around ... then pls help me out ... i really want to do it rite ...

Mahib Bukhari.

To slim a face, you would use a technique called "Short lighting":

Using the 3-point lighting system will get you the best looking lighting with the least amount of effort.

Most of every problem you have ever had, someone else has also had...generally, someone will post something online. Google searches (or searches here for that matter) will generally turn up answers for you.

The web was my film school. I went from pointing a camcorder on auto everything to lighting and boom miked sound with manual everything in 2 years using the web to research and just trying stuff out with my camera.

All of the information is out there, sometimes you have to dig a little bit if you want simple answers...there are lots of discussions on the physics of light , but the simple how-to stuff is out there too...just have to dig a little.
