on camera light, shoe mount problem ...

1 Attachment(s)
I accidently drop my Sony 20-watt on camera Video Light (HVL-20DW2),
and two pieces of the square thing that is use to mount the light onto a shoe broke off. (see attached picture)

Has anyone had this happend to them?
and/or know a way to fix it?

The Light also has stander screw hole, so I was wondering if anyone know of a place where they may sell somekind of an adapter that may solve this?

I also thought about krazy cluing it back on, but im afraid it will brake off again eventually.

TIA

Unfortunately, you have had more than two bits break off. The other side is also ready to fall off. I'm just grasping at straws, but perhaps you could find a small screw and washer that could attach at the hole left in the bottom of the light. The washer would need to be the same diameter as the inside of the camera shoe. Since the tightnening mechanism looks intact, it might be able to clamp down onto the shoe and keep it steady. The light isn't very heavy, so this might work. Of course, if your camera has a hot shoe, don't put a washer in that could bridge the contacts and make a short!!! The good news is that these lights aren't too expensive.

Broken Shoe Connector...

You might visit your local camera store. (Probably not one of the big name stores.) I have seen some type of "threaded screw to hot/cold shoe" adapter available. They might have one, or know where to get one. Take the light with you so they'll understand your problem and so you can try out a few options. If all else fails, maybe you can get a cold shoe adapter (2 attachments on 1 shoe) and modify it somehow to accept a screw from your light.

Good luck!
