Actual Resolution When Capturing Direct To Nle

Hi everyone,
If I capture footage directly from the "head" of my gs70 directly into FCP will the lines of resolution be more than if I first captured to mini-dv tape?
Thanks in advance.
Doug

Not sure what you mean by capturing from "the head" vs tape. You should be capturing through your camera's firewire port because that will give you digital data without any conversion.

But no matter how you capture, all NTSC DV is 720x480 pixels. It doesn't matter if you capture it live from the camera or by playing back a tape in the camera. It's all the same 1's and 0's, and the resolution is always 720x480.
