I was looking on line at Tamrac's website. It looks like they have some nice camera bags that are designed for the XL1. No one around here carries them. I'd have to order one. Does anyone have one or can tell me a good bag. Any good on line place to buy camera bags?

The Tamrac bag looks like it would do the trick for a carry-on type of trip.

I've become very partial to PortaBrace cases. Their design and workmanship is far better than any others I've used.

If you are using an XL1 and want a good bag to schlep to a local shoot you should take a look at their "Quick Draw" case for the XL1. It lets you keep the camera intact and the back expands to easily accommodate an MA-100.

They have several other bags and packs designed for the XL1/XL1s. Take a look through their "Mini DV Gallery" for details.

You can buy most of these bags at B&H. (bhphoto.com) They will probably be a bit more $ than Tamrac but they are expertly crafted and will probably outlive the camera.

I have the Kata bag for the XL-1 which also allows you to keep the lens and body intact with the MA-100 attached, plus enough room for my 3X lens and other stuff. It's still very compact because it's a soft case.

They claim it's carry-on size, but once you fill the side pockets it's just a tad over the limit.

Kata bags are really comfortable, the shoulder straps are great. And one of the things I like most is the yellow interior. Until I got this bag, I'd never realized how often I fumbled around in a black interior bag looking for little black stuff.

On a side note...I also have the Kata Banana 10 (smallest size) production bag. This is really great for day trips. Has just enough room to carry all your essentials, but is still small enough not to be a hassle.
