Hi Nick,
Microsoft discontinued support for the Mac Version of the Windows Media Player and they now link to a download for the free Flip4Mac Quicktime plug-in that allows you to view Windows Media content through your Quicktime engine.

Find the Flip4Mac plug-in here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...omponents.mspx

Since Quicktime is basically the engine upon which much of the OS handles much of the multimedia content, once you have the Flip4Mac plug-in correctly installed, your browser should be able to view the bulk of standard online windows media content.

okay, my brother turned out to say the same thing, ahahaha.
thanks for helping though, man!
oh, but isn't the Flip4Mac that you download like a trial, or like, only play 30 seconds, or something dumb like that?

They do have 'for-pay' options at the flip4mac site, and they tout them pretty heavily with the easiest to find links - and depending upon how you enter the site, you may have to look through the page to find the free plug-in - but the free one is not a trial download...unless they've made changes to it since I downloaded mine some time ago.

You do have to pay a tiered pricing depending upon your intention to author Windows Media content, but just to play windows files through quicktime requires the free non-trial version.

I use the free non trial version of Flip4. Works fine.
