Question about Data Rate at DVinfo.net

Hi,

I'm still wondering that how important is the Data Rate for a Camcorder?!

C'ld any expert answer it?Thanks and Appreciate!!!

HMC-150 seems the highest Data Rate in the market 24Mbps, how do the data rate work on the Camcorder? or..it's a transfering speed?

Typically the higher the better since it can cram as much detail but data rate is different when it comes to different codecs.
