Question with my latest adventure...

The Beach Boys surfed into little ol' Fort Pierce, FL Thursday night. Their show was at the Sunrise Theatre, a small, 1940s-era theater that was recently renovated. There was a meet-and-greet with the band before the concert, during which the second interview in this sequence was filmed. I had the HMC-40 in manual mode, but for some reason the scene darkened and lightened numerous times as if the two women I was interviewing were backlit. I've had that happen to me in auto mode, but never in manual. There were windows along the one wall, but it was late in the day and we weren't near the windows at all. Anyone know what I did wrong?

Oh, and John Stamos was with the band. Needless to say, we ladies were captivated....:)

Were shutter speed and exposure on manual, or just exposure?

You said the camera was in manual mode. But the iris must be in manual mode too. I guess you had the iris in "Auto" mode.

Cristian,

Now that I think about it, that's probably what happened. I did a manual white balance and was fiddling around with the iris setting on the fly, so I probably did accidentally put it back in auto mode without realizing it. Grrrrr.

Hey Chris,

As far as I know, everything was in manual. But I was fiddling with the white balance and the iris dial the most, which is why I suspect I inadvertently put the iris back into auto mode.
