Got an HMC150!
 

Just received my HMC150 today! Boy is this a step up from my Canon HF10. The camera is just beautiful and the wide angle lens is a huge plus. Working 40 hours a week during the summer has really paid off!

Well considering I'm 16 and have no payments and such to pay for I'm able to save most of what I earn.

Wendell, congrats on the HMC150. I bought my Sony V1U's about six months before the HMC150 came out or I would be the proud owner of two of them.

I love my Sony V1U's but after dealing with the dreaded "jello" effect caused by camera movement and the CMOS sensors the idea of a CCD camera is really appealing. Plus I like the idea of going solid state. Every time I open and close the tape mechanism on my Sony's I am aware of a lot of little servo's and motors at work and shudder to think what Sony Professional charges to repair them if they fail.

Let us know how you like the 150. I have read very positive things about it. The only weakness seems to be the LCD screen is not very sharp and it would be cool if it had dual memory card slots like some. Other than that everybody raves about this camera.

And yes, I love this camera as well as everyone else does. Not having CMOS sensors like on my HF10 makes the footage not show those tell-tale artifacting and banding issues. My personal favorite parts of the camera are the focus assist options, the waveform monitor, and the ability to change scene file settings for any type of shooting.

I have a couple gripes though. First is the included battery. Why would Panasonic give us a 90 minute battery on the lowest setting. At a higher setting it lasted almost an hour for me. Secondly, is the viewfinder. Although its sharp and seems to show the colors better, looking down it is like looking down a long tunnel with light ahead. Other then that, its awesome.
