Got my AF100 today, now to fit the NanoFlash

Kevin at Access AV (accessavnh.com) is great I ordered mine just a couple weeks ago and he called me today to inform me my new baby was in.

Support your local dealers. They are great to have around and give great personal service.

I had an eventful drive back in ice and snow lots of blue and amber light shows on the way back north. But me and the baby made it fine.

Now comes the fun part. Test my old Canon FD, FL lenses and my current L's, Fit the NanoFlash and build a custom rail system. I will start on this tomorrow.

It is amazing how light this camera is w/o a lens.

More soon.

Initial prototype NF mount

I had some time this AM and yesterday to mess with this idea.

It is pretty simple, I just remove the handle on the right and I made a "shim" that really is a bracket. Then there are 2 different NF mounts that go on it. The handle bolts back on with the original screws.

Now the battery is something I will work on in the next few days. On this setup in the shots the 2 cell is just velcroed to the NF. But I think the placement is where the "incapsulated" battery with a switch should go. More on the batts later.

Comments please.

These are very quick and dirty photos. These will be available at my store soon. The production brackets will be anodized black and more refined.

If you are in a hurry to get a set, contact me directly.

I got mine from Amazon:

Yes it is very cheap so I decided to get it just so I can play a bit with my L's until the Birger gets here. It works fine and seem quite rugged it actually fits as well as my Novoflex for my FD's and FL's.

If I was planning to use it for a longer time I would keep a very close eye on it for cracks or whatever for now it is working great.

So I was pleasantly surprised at how well it fits and how rugged it seems. It is a rather simple to make completely mechanical adapter, that a CNC lathe can spit out quickly. I thought about making one myself, but why bother when it only costs $30.00.

If I have any problems with it I will post about it here.
