AC130 date/time stamp vs AC160

Can anyone with a AC130 post a screenshot of the placement of the date/time stamp location so we can compare it to the the one Mr. Downie posted with his AC160?

As a legal videographer this "feature" is extremely important and I'm sure there are a few more of us that would benefit from seeing any difference between to two.

Thanks

Blah.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Right there in the middle. Screenshot from AC-130 (not full resolution).

Panasonic's working on solving the issue. I'm sure it'll be resolved shortly, just hang in there.

Thanks for the post Nate. Thought that might be the case.

Hope Panasonic is as quick as Apple was to try to fix its 4s battery issue. Looks like the only solution to date/time placement (superimposed) and total tapelessness a Sony NX5U.

Good to hear Panasonic is thinking about it. I don't use the feature, but I know there are those who do.

I was curious as to why it was in the middle and it occurred to me that maybe it has to do something with the DV function of the cam/center cropping or something, but in 480, 720 and 1080i it stays consistently in the way!

Oh well, I'm sure we'll get something soon. It seems like Panasonic is still scrambling to get all the parts of their Pro website up and running with the new crop of cams...big job I'm sure.

Good news: it looks like an update is available to fix the problem. Per Jan Crittenden, it looks like the camera will have to be sent to Panasonic for the installation of the new firmware.

Just to save people some time on google, here is the contact info for people in the USA:

Quote:

We now have the firmware in house to update the AG-AC130 and the AG-AC160 Time Date Stamp to a lower position on the screen. This does require a trip to Panasonic. Depending on which side of the Mississippi you are on call either the LA office 201-436-3503 or the NJ office 201-392-6092.

Thank you for your patience on this one.

Best regards,
Jan

Instead of calling the phone numbers above just email Jan[dot]Crittenden{at}us\dot\panasonic|dot|com

I called one of the numbers and the individual has been enjoying the phone calls, but it's not his department.

Here is a 4:3 shot of what the date/time stamp currently looks like with the update on the Panny 160A as covered here-
http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/panasoni...ate-stamp.html

Note that the date & time are only in military time. There isn't a way to switch to AM/PM.

My 130a has the time stamp in the same position as John's 160a pictured above, so apparently the problem has been resolved on the newer models.
