Should I be concerned
I main camera is my Panasonic HMC-40
On occasion, the viewfinder will flash green or purple for a split second or so, it doesn't carry over to the actual video, but it's like a glitch in the viewfinder ( LCD screen is what I mean ) Has anyone else experienced this? |
Re: Should I be concerned
In my experience, that is indicating either a failure of the electronics driving the screen or an intermitant connection failure between the two.

Re: Should I be concerned
I'd get that looked at by a pro shop, problems like that don't go away but they can get worse and if it's a faulty connection .. fail altogether.
Cheers. |

Untill the problem can be produced on demand, intermittent faults are difficult to fix. Moreover, it is equally difficult to verify that the repair was successful. While the LCD could fail in an important shoot, the damage will be minimal since you know about the problem and that it doesn't affect the recorded footage. Depending on your personality you can hope the LCD permanently fails so you can get if fixed, or that the problem happens so seldomly that the LCD never needs serviced. |
