AG 90 date stamp.

I just got a Panasonic AG 90 and when I put the files into the PC it has a take number / date / time of date stamp displayed on the files to be edited. (which I don't want)

If I look on the viewfinder in play, those items don't appear, they also don't appear on the video O/P if its plugged into a monitor.

Is it a camera setting or is a problem going into the editing / viewing program?

Re: AG 90 date stamp.

Hi Brian,

What you are seeing almost HAS to be a function of the editing software. In fact, that is one of the biggest complaints from users of these newer AVCHD cameras is that most models do NOT "burn" this info into the video, as required for legal video work (depositions, etc.)

What software are you working with? It is helpful to include as much info as possible when posting questions, makes it a lot easier to get the right answers.

Thank you

Re: AG 90 date stamp.

I actually didn't mention the software as it was a 'free' video converter download, since getting the cam I have now realised that my intention of editing in windows movie maker was going to be out of the question.
So I'm now in the process upgrading my system both hardware and software.
Any suggestions regarding final cut or premier or Vegas etc and no I'm not committed to a platform system, I'm just after a simple editing program that will handle AVCHD with the final delivery on DVD ?

Re: AG 90 date stamp.

If you're on the PC, then Final Cut is not an option, Mac only. On PC, you have Premiere, Vegas, Grass Valley EDIUS. There is also Avid, but that is aimed at a different market than yourself.

You should be able to get free trial downloads to see what you like. I'm partial to Premiere CS6 and Encore myself, but Vegas and EDIUS have their own popular following.

Thanks
