MX Buyer Beware

Some of you may remember this poor fellow's dealings with getting a MX3000 from the USA. Here's a letter I received from him today.

Yeah, that Rubin guy is something else. I guess you remember me posting many months ago about how he said he was processing my VISA refund for the MX3000 (which he never did ship to me), but the refund never did come. I had to send VISA all the info I had and finally they credited my account. The whole thing took months because VISA wanted a credit voucher from Rubin, which of course he never would send. Then they wanted an email stating info about the refund. This took a couple of months for me to get Rubin to reply to any email I sent him. Finally I got an email with one sentence stating my credit was being processed by his Japan operation, which...like I said, it never did come.

Basically VISA said something very simple regarding matters like this, which I didn't know:

If the invoice has the ship date on it and you don't receive the goods by that date you can tell VISA and they will refund you the money for non-delivery of goods ( I think that's what VISA called it). You only have a 6 month window for this so I was lucky after all my fussing around I just got in under that window. Something to keep in mind for future transactions.

Moral: buyer beware. Order from people like Tim and Allan instead. They both have a good track record.
