Any one used the Hoya UV filter from ebay?

Is it good? How does it compare with the uv filter from panasonic, price japan

Hoya make good filters. They also have different grades (high-end/low-end is what I mean).

I ordered one from ebay which is around 7.95 $

I dont know whether this is high end or low end, there is no other 43 mm UV filter in hoya in ebay.

I keep catalogs from filter makers just to see what's out there. Hoya is widely available in Canada and some other parts of the world. I don't know about the USA.

i would love too tell you of the quality
problem is this
just purchased vegas nle software
and in the process of building an edditing dvd machine/pc
i dont think i can give a recomendation based on say TV playback
as IMHO tv is a lousy way for me to determine

next problem will be to learn how to use vegas and dvd 5.1 digital
mixing but my home stereo supports this in spades THX 5.1 DTS
this will no doubt take time

as i think frank mentions there are quality mic setups available
most are pobably better than panys stock offering but i dont know
this pany mic was only 135 bucks from pj and i dont know what the mics frank refers too cost pany one has tele wide & zoom

now that i have picked the camera i have many more questions and the expense is mounting as getting the dv in to another
mode so to speak for family use, I.E. DVD my use of the camera far and away easyier to get around jap menu than i had even thought or expected thing is that now i will no nothing of this cams quality until i can go from dv to dvd
my initial thoughts as i tinker with it and record are great but the best playback i have seen is on the cams own screen so i have elected to build the pc and expand my new hobby
i am excited and putting together the pc is a tougher choice than picking the cam 10 x the hours of tidious research in building a proper editing platform and the tech since i last built a machine has lots of new terminology old pIII class
when all is said and done i will have a 12 pound fully mobile small form factor pc and the whole rig camera and everything will fit into a backpack for when i visit home over christmas and such
tech is a wonderful thing

I know what you mean as I'm also in the proccess of setting up DV editing PC.

What you want to do is something perfect though and shouldn't stop you evaluating to some extend the quality of the Pana hot shoe mic.

If you have HiFi system conected to your TV/video/AV it's relatively easy to check the sound via Monitor headphones. You can compare the recorded sounds of voices with background music in normal stereo and in zoom mode of the onboard and then the hot shoe mic.
Which one pics up more sound from behind? Which one sounds clearer, is there big difference, etc.?

On the photos it looks made from plastics. Does it have well built feeling, is there any switch on it?

I am not sure if this is the correct location but PC was mentioned.

I am in the process of making a Generic PC HD for home use and now I have the NV100 K and I will want to Edit.

I am looking at a 2.4CGHZ CPU but which mother Board ?

....... maybe the Intel Pearl 865 ? It has a IEEE on Board ....any Suggstions, I would need i-Link instead of using USB I suppose and then I would want a good Grafix card, any reccomendations?

I will be using a DVD-RW/ CD-RW Driver, to burn my own DVD's

Also I will be using XP Home, Probably

What would be a basic good set up for the Novice Home User with a broad Band Provider?

865 chipset motherboard if you go 2.4 go with 800fsb will support new ht tech chip is about 172 bucks @newegg the firewire is ich5 compliant get some dual chanel action going
