Firewire card

Who makes the best firewire card for PC at a good price?

Joel Specter August 20th, 2003 02:49 PM

I bought the Adaptec Duo with 3 USB 2.0 and 2 Firewire connections on one card. Its a highly rated card. You can use pricegrabber.com to find various sources/prices.

Use the following link -

Good luck,

Joel

Thanks Jole for the information. I guess what I should be asking is are all firewire cards the same? Do they just bundled the different ones with different software ? I wish I knew more about this stuff:-/

All firewire cards are not the same except for basically being a firewire card. Its just like camcorders that range from low to high quality with their features. you have to compare each card and decide whats important.

I chose the Adaptec because of its higher engineering features, i.e. quaility, the additional firewire/USB 2.0 ports, excellant drivers and website support.

Each card does come with different stuff, software, cable etc.

Here is a link to a firewire review use as a example.

Hope this helps
