What conflicts with what...GS100K

I find one of the most frustrating things, in terms of usability on the GS100K, is knowing which options disable other options. At the simplest level, many options are disabled in automatic mode. Others are disabled in frame mode and so on...

Perhaps we should attempt an organized cheat sheet?

You may want to download the MX500 or PV-DV953 manual to find many of these "conflicts."

Rule of thumb, use manual mode.

Peter if the GS100 menus are anything like the DV953 menus then they will show you what is disabled by showing a different color (Dark Blue on the 953) locking out that particular menu. In other words if you go into automatic or in Frame and AE (as you mention) certain menus are locked out which I'm sure you probably came across on your GS100.

I think your right... some sort of organized cheat sheet should be made. Truthfully though, when this camera first launched and there was initial interest in it, several people made the extra effort to make menu translations. That initial interest has now faded... possibly because the people who purchased this camera are now comforatble enough with it, or because they have just learned how to navigate through the menus with the help of the translations that were available or other manuals that are online.

But Frank may be correct - sometimes less is more... and with case of you being frustrated with the GS100 your only option may be the automaticl mode and getting what you get!

Peter and other shooters of stills with the 100k, this is one someone asked me about yesterday. I had to go into the manual to find out. To shoot continuous stills to the SD card: put the camcorder in picture mode first. Then hit the menu button. Choose item 4. When the menu for that item comes up, choose 640x480. Then scroll down to the fourth selection. It should now be active and you should be able to choose between H or L, with H giving you about 16 shots and L about 8. What's not obvious on this one is that if you're not in picture mode, selecting 640x480 won't give you access to the continuous stills to SD card choices. Also, I think the flash function won't work in this mode.
