Thanks again. But what for? If this cam is intended for the English world also, Pana should have made this info available in English. Perhaps they haven't gotton 'round to it as with exporting their GS100 (and MX350 and MX3000 etc). :-((

Thanks. But when I go to your link, all I get is a dark blue background. Maybe I'll try my other browser.

Here is something I find interesting on the DVCPRO page of the link that was posted earlier in this thread

http://panasonic.biz/sav/camera/ag-dvc30/ag-dvc30.html

It lists Pana cameras from the 30 to the 100 and above but it doesnt show the 80 at all. Does this hint discontinued status is comming for the 80?

If that is so, then it's bad news for the PD170.

You mean good news for Sony. A shame because it looked like a an affordable alternative to the PD170/VX2100 as long as you didn't need 24p/30p like its big brother.

I meant that the DVC80's may be going for cheaper, while remaining stocks last---you know, like with the PV-DV852 and AG-EZ50U.

Good point and I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the price. Especially when the DVC30 hits the scene.

Sorry, I don't know, but I'm sure we'll both find out soon after Allan reads your question.
