Pana added NV-GS200K and NV-GS120K
 

Pana Japan added two smaller 3chip camcorders.
Panasonic claims these new NV-GS200K (470g) and NV-GS120K (450g) are the smallest 3CCD miniDV camcorders in the market.

At least the specs are now clearer.

No OIS
No low dispersion lens
No HQ widescreen
No Procinema
No Pro functions

Definitely not the upgrade to the GS100, but that of the GS70 IMO.

In my opinion, it's peculiar and indeed pathetic in the way Pana plays its model numbers game. First they give us the lesser MX2000 (than the MX3000), then the MX2000 gets slightly more consumer beef with its MX2500, though it's still not as beefy nor good as the MX3000 because it's of a lesser model number. In fact, the MX3000 was so good that they kept around (in Japan) for 2 whole years, instead of one---and the MX350, well, it was slightly better in some ways but not as good in other ways, so it replaced the PALsville MX3000 version but not the MX3000 from Japan. Was this because it didn't have the beef to replace the Japan only, NTSC MX3? Yes. And last year we see this logic as well between the GS70 and GS100---though Heaven forbid this flagship GS/mamba is another one for Japan only (at least for last year, and part of this year). Now that Pana has established a pattern or the rules of the numbers game, the world will get a better GS100 replacement---right? Afterall, these replacements do come with higher model numbers: the GS120 and GS200. At least that's what Pana wants the consumer banana to believe. Nice tactic, right? Wrong! Not on this board! The only questions I have at this point are:[list=1][*]will Pana relent and give the rest of the world "OUR" flagship Black Mamba (GS100)?[*]is the GS100 a 2-year flagship model or is there a replacement destined for late Spring of 2004 (in Japan)?[/list=1]My 2 cents for today. :-))
