Twixtor 24p
 

I have more frame mode to 24p twixtor clips on http://www.fortvir.net under Member album - FXs Stuff.

There are 3 clips, two are the same but with different settings. Let me know which you think is better of the 2.

Verry nice..this kind of footage is convincing me to go get a 953.. i didnt really notice a difference between the 2 clips that are the same..they both looked really good..im gonna use your method for 24p when i get the camera..gj

Nice footage. Did you do color correction? If so, how did you correct?

I don't believe any of those clips were color corrected. If anything was done to color it was some 'levels' adjustment. But I believe thats all. I always shoot fully manual, and use white balance cards.

When you indicate that the footage was shot in "Frame-Mode" (as oppossed to 60i), what exactly do you mean? Sorry: I'm unfamiliar with the 953 and I'm not clear if it shoots in 30p. I ask because the common wisdom (rumor) is that footage shot in progressive is difficult to render as 24p in post, but the "frame Mode" footage looks a LOT better than the 60i footage to my eyes...
(I also ask because I'm getting a GS100k and I had resigned myself to using the "pro cinema" mode in 30p, but I'd like to be able to render as 24p in post...)

Both the DV953 and GS100 have frame mode. Although it is not true progressive 30p, it is often referred to that way since the end result is a non-interlaced frame. Frame mode is interpolated. There is vertical resolution loss with this mode over 60i. 60i is about 360 lines and frame mode is about 320 lines. If you shoot in widescreen with the DV953, additional resolution is lost. Even with those losses, the pictures can look stunning.

But you must also remember that the 953 and gs100 both have lots of pixels to go around.
