it's nice that these specs are up, but some of these specifications are still to be confirmed officially, i got a few offical specs e-mailed to me from panasonic Australia, without pricing and without a release date. i posted these in another GS400 spec's thread

George Beck May 13th, 2004 07:41 AM

actually I think we have all specs confirmed at that point.

I think the last one to be confirmed was the CCD size, which was confirmed by Pana some days ago =)

Kamal Tailor May 13th, 2004 08:30 AM

i'd still like to see some offical specs of that CCD size, as we all know some of the specs on even the Panasonic sites are wrong ie spain and russian site. Where did panasonic confirm the size of the CCDs?? i'd like to see it for myself if i can. it's always good to read more about the GS400 =)

it's just a shame my Japan to london train ride has been cancelled though =(

i really wanted to go on that this year, i had the perfect Narrator for my video documentory of it =)

George Beck May 13th, 2004 08:38 AM

Kamal, someone sent e-mail to Pana and thats what they answered...

Frank, Guy,

you around? I got a new graphic from Pany. Where did you want me to post it?

Frank Granovski May 14th, 2004 02:44 PM

If it's just 1 "graphic," gif or jpg, send it so I can take a look and post it, if it's any good. Pana sent me a couple of GS400 ad "graphics" about 2 months ago, but they are kind of useless.

Joby Arandela May 14th, 2004 02:48 PM

Frank,

I just went ahead and posted in the members album.

This was sent via email from pany europe technical support so at least it's from pany.

GS400EB/EG Specs 05142004

Is this the same image you got before?

Frank Granovski May 14th, 2004 03:37 PM

Thanks. Attempting to look there only gave me the bagua of java script errors before she locked up like a clam. So, I won't be able to let you know. Sorry. I usually take a boo at Guy's site when I'm at the gym, which has been a while since I've been there. I can get into Tommy's site, though. :-))

Oliver Hu May 14th, 2004 03:40 PM

1/4.7" CCD, 690Kx3 video pixel, 43mm thread, 3D Noise Reduction, and 2 Lux!

Pana did make great efforts on low light performance. I expect GS400 will beat SONY's HC1000 pants down!

Frank Granovski May 14th, 2004 03:59 PM

690K X 3?? This is for the PAL version? Oh, oh..., there goes the resolution; and 1/4.7 CCDS are still small---not much bigger than 1/6" CCDs. Ask Tommy. :-))

Tom E Young May 14th, 2004 04:47 PM

Qeorge all ready did tell me the ccd size of the gs400 video camcorder. He told me I should wait and wait is what I am doing because I have to. I did not phone today.

Tom E Young May 14th, 2004 04:50 PM

2 lux is good for run and gun when there is no light from the sun. Is 1/4.7 Sony trv950 ccds from Sony? How much pixels is good for video?

Tom E Young May 14th, 2004 04:51 PM

What is noise reduction?
