The DVC30 does not have progressive scan. It DOES have frame mode.

well well well.
Judging by those prices it isn't gonna cost a lot more (if you are getting XLR's) to by the dvx-100 is it. i read a review by a cinematographer and he loved the camera for use in film. Its really quite hard to decide. the only thing is that the 30 has 16x zoom.
