Here ya go!

The album below has some new shots of the GS400 and two pics comparing the optical system of the GS100 (smaller block) versus the larger GS400.

It also seems that the USB 2.0 port on the GS400 is a new "USB Video Class" in that it can transfer video like the IEEE1394 firewire port.

July 20th is what I've seen for the Japanese release date.

I just got a reply from B&H Photo that the estimated release date for the U.S. version of the GS400 is August with a price of $1499. That's just an approximate time and estimate, and there was no further information about specs or anything.

I wish I had a GS400 but I located those pics on a Japanese forum.

No takers on the GS100 yet so it looks like I might have to try eBay.

Pricejapan.com is now showing the GS400 on its front page and claims a July15th start date.

Tommy, from those picture it looks like the menu is in Japanese, but cos of the MZ in the top right corner of the LCD it looks like it might have the potential for an English menu, but that's only a very rough guesstimate

but we can always hope =)

did the GS100 have a english menu option??

Rokta, it was basically a site just comparing the GS100 to GS400 specs to specs. There was no actual comment on performance.

Kamal, the Japanese cams usually have a good bit of English on the OSD but the actual menus are usually 100% Japanese.

Here is a screenshot from my old MX1000 (DV852 in N.A. and MX8 in PAL) from Japan and look how much English it has.

Sure would be nice if it had an English toggle in the menu. :(

Probably Manual Zoom for the multi-purpose ring up front. The ring can control zoom, focus, and shutter speed.
