GS-400 battery and other accessories

Hi !

I was wondering what sort of battery the GS-400 will use ? Is there a new battery type for this camcorder ?

I think I heard somewhere that Panasonic is coming out with a new wide angle converter but I assume any old 43mm wide angle converter will still work with the GS-400 ?

Camcorders are expensive enough, so I'm hoping to be able to use some old accessories with the GS-400 for a while :)

Cheers,

Espen

Seems like I may be answering my own question :)

Tony Leung posted this picture in another thread :

It seems that the GS-400 comes with cga-du14 battery. Isn't this the same battery type that the other GS camcorders use ?

My GS100 uses a similar looking battery and has the model # of VW-VBD140. Its also rated at 7.2v and 1360mAh and has the same positive/negative pin configuration as the photo you linked to.

I'd say yes.

Yes, the GS400 shares the same batt as the GS100/200/120/70/55 and even that of the DVD camcorder.

Pany is offering a new 43mm teleconverter lens in line with the GS400 release.

Your 43mm wideconverter lens should attach properly to the front thread of the GS400.
