hanging glass off front of gs200

Yes, I want to get a raynox 5000 pro to hang off the front of my new Panasonic nv gs200 (yeah, playing with PAL). But the stupid questuion arises: isn't the distance between the lens and the WA adaptor a wee too much once it threads in? Shouldn't the back end of the WA adaptor sit closer to the gs200 lens?

assuming it's OK (sorry, but I've never had a camera this small and I think it's a blaaast!!) it then will take a hoya thin and a B+W rubber hood. did anyone say vignetting? (Thanks to Patricia and Frank for these tips)

Heeeeeeeelp

It's a very good question Yervant.

Make sure to unscrew the supplied hood before attaching any lens converter. That's the closest you can get to the GS200 lens. Besides, the front thread of the Pany hood is not designed to carry the load of heavy attachments, but it's good for filters.

Pat and I were just exchanging posts regarding filter options for the Raynox 5000. Check out Pat's last post.

Note that attaching an extra 110grams or so, on the front part of the GS200 would disturb it's excellent balance.

Thanks, Allan. I hope I don't trash the camera in the process. Maybe I can go to a jeweller. I'm telling you, I find it a blaaast

I'm so glad I occasionally have the clarity of mind to ask a stooopid question.

THNX again
