How to acquire video in GS200 to PC?

I just bought a Panasonic GS 200. I installed all the programs and cannot find a way to upload the recorded video to my PC via USB or firewire.

I read the manual. It says that I need a DV interface cable (which look like a firewire cable to me?) and an application.

What is a DV interface cable?

Do I need to buy a seperate program in order to upload video directly? Any recommendation for such application software?

Eric.

You'll need a firewire cable and some type of acquisition and/or editing software.

Your camcorder has a 4-pin firewire connection and your computer/laptop will have either the same 4-pin or the larger 6-pin firewire. So make sure to get the correct 4pin-to-4pin or 4pin-to-6pin firewire (IEEE1394) cable.

As for which software that will depend on how deep you want to go (and how deep your pockets go). Bottom end editing programs start at around $50 and those usually have a PCI firewire card and cable.

Good luck.
