GS400 accessories on eBay?

So iīve just bought a GS400 and now iīm thinking of buying some accessories.
Iīve just been on eBay and i found this auction

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=64329&item=3870649757&rd=1

I know it probably isnīt the best quality this stuff but i was thinking that maybe someone knows how well these things would work? Like the wideangel lens for example...

I also found this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3869477708

and that really looks good for me and my movie projects...

So what do you think, is it OK stuff for a great price or is it just a waste of money to buy these things?

Thank you!

Hey Oskar, I try and avoid cheap glass and especially cheap batteries. Bad glass in front of good glass (GS400) will just yield poor video performance but a bad battery could damage your cam!

From what I saw of one of these "High Definition" WA and Tele adapters is that they introduce a significant amount of distortion and chromatic aberrations. Buyer beware!

So i should buy like Panasonic VW-LW4307 WE 0,7x 43mm and maybe filters from soligor?
Perhaps anyone of you have some other suggestions of some accessories i should buy to my cam?

And oh, what about that steadystick? The reason iīm looking at those things is that i wanna have a nice stable shot and still be able to walk around. Perhaps there is something else i should look at to make that possible? Iīve just seen steadicams that cost $1000+ and thatīs a little bit to much for me!

Hi Oskar,

Here is the video I shot using a stablizer. The camera is JVC gy-dv5000u with FUJINON s20x6.4brm-sd. The stablizer support gs400.

Yeah! that looks really great. So, what kind of stablizer did you use?

(Itīs kinda funny youīve used a cam thats like 10 times as big as mine! It isnīt very likely we would use the same stablizer )

Hi Oskar,

Glad you like it.

I manufacture stablizer and I plan to lease the stablizer to my customer for US$10 per day. What do you think that renting price? Too dear?

That was my first time to try to get big range in the video, the footage seems quite shaking. On flat ground, I don't have lots of shaking.

Here is another video I shot .

So youīre planing to hire out your stabilizers? I have no idea how much money you should take for that...

Any one else have a suggestion for a stabilizer that i can buy, thatīs more suitable for my GS400?

Are you mechanically inclined?

Hi Oscar,

Are you mechanically inclined? If so you can put together your own stabilizer. Either a very basic unit or something more involved with a bearing, etc.

Check out this site... http://www.homebuiltstabilizers.com/

It's pretty cool.

For an instruction manual you could purchase the book from this site...

BTW, Leigh, I'm not trying to take anything away from you and your efforts, I'm only offering up alternatives to Oscar if he is so inclined. Oh, and nice steady work with that video. Very smooth.

sincerely,

ian
