Change Japanese Menus ???

I have been fairly successful at mastering the
Japanese menus and buttons on our NV-MX3000 and
purchasing the English language remote control
( PV-DRC9 ) made using the camera even easier.

However, there is an implication on supervideo.com
where the Chuckmeister *seems* to be saying, and
you never can really tell what he means, that the
menus can be changed to English with the camera
retaining it's NTSC output. The Chuckmeister
refers to this as a "Custom Build".

My old Sony TRV-120 could be "hacked" to activate
dormant features, such as Zebra bars, gain control
and manual iris control.

In another discussion forum, I was in contact
with an Australian MX300A owner who was having
trouble with his MX dropping frames when loading
the footage into his computer NLE. He took the
camera to the official Australian Panasonic
service center, where they updated the cameras
firmware by connecting a computer to one of
the jacks (believe it's the "edit E (mini)" port).
He also stated that the technician doing the
change told him that he had accidentally changed
the menus to Japanese while doing this previously.

Surely, the English language menu files exist
because they are used on the MX300A. I'll bet
that the firmware for the PV-DV952 is nearly
identical as well.

Has ANYBODY tried to get their menus changed
to English ? The firmware master at Panasonic
U.S.A. repairs must know how to do this, but he's
probably under direct orders from Japan not to
help us.

Please don't reply with "JUST GET USED TO IT".
I'm fairly skilled with my MX, it would just be
NICE to have the menus in English. I think we
ALL agree on this subject.

Any ideas that actually make progress toward this
goal would be greatly appreciated,

Big Cochino

I don't think you can, but I'm not really sure. Perhaps e-mail Terrence to see what he has to say. In the mean time, I'm going to copy and paste your post with an e-mail to Panasonic AU (who did my firmware upgrade with my MX300A). I should have an answer on this next week.

I was told, "no."

Here's another answer:
