MX300 (PAL) and NTSC DV tape?

Can anybody please tell me if MX300 will be able to read an NTSC DV tape (from Sony TRV17)? I do not care to see it on TV or a monitor, all I want is to download the footage into a PC through firewire link (DV Raptor, can be set to work with either PAL or NTSC).
Nothing even remotely like that in the manual, of course. Funny, the manual never even says that the camera is PAL :-))) And I thought the manuals are designed for a complete idiot customers only in the US.
Will be very grateful for any relevant info. Thanks in advance, Dmitri.

As far as I know, the PAL MX300 will not output a NTSC DV signal via firewire or is even capable of playing a NTSC tape, in the first place. Some camcorders are able to output a pseudo NTSC signal, but only through the analog output, while a few decks can handle dual standards (playback only).

I guess Panasonic assumed that the model designation, MX300, is widely understood to be PAL, as opposed to the NTSC MX3000. It should also be stated in the specs portion of the manual and on the box.
