What's a Nv-MX300A worth?

What's a MX300A worth? One with 2, 220 batteries, UV, and less than 1/2 hour use? (Worth in US funds.) Just curious. Thanks, experts!

I'm considering selling it. (I had 2, MX300s. The fist one I used for about 20 hours, then gave it to my wife's sister in Iran.)

By the way, it's "mint."

Allan Rejoso January 21st, 2003 07:57 AM

Yeah, I would like to know as well. As you may recall, I recently offered a mint MX3000 for $1,200 covered with a 3-year warranty (valid only in Japan) and there a few inquiries but no takers.

Frank Granovski January 21st, 2003 02:45 PM

Allan, did you put the cam up on E-bay?

Allan Rejoso January 21st, 2003 04:14 PM

No, I don't know how. I thought there might be some issues with ebay since I live in Japan.

Frank Granovski January 21st, 2003 04:31 PM

I know what you mean about e-bay. But why don't you try and figure out the how to at e-bay, and give it a shot. Q sells the MX3000 for around $3000 US. I'm sure you'll have someone interested at your price. I would think that $1500 US for that cam would be a bargain for anyone wanting one (in the USA). I think that's what I'll be asking, $1500. I hate to sell it, but I need the cash for a MX500. The MX500 costs a lot more than the MX5000.

Hi gentlemen,

Yep, I sold my Nv-MX300A for $2600 Australian[us $ 1,534 }. It was 20 months old and likewise in mint condition . Tried e-bay but with little sucess ( only offering me <$2000, saying that the MX500 was $3600 so why buy old tecknology ) . Finally sold through the local trading post in my state .

Now saving for the MX500

Gavin .

Good man...and lucky! Yup. I too want a MX500, now (but can't afford it).

I was in Best Denki (Japanese Chain Store) in KLCC in Malaysia, today, they were offering the MX300EN (PAL version) - display unit with standard package- at 30% discount from it's original recommended retail price of RM 8,200 (USD $2130). So that'll come up to RM 5740 which is equivalent to USD $ 1490. (USD $1 = RM 3.85).

Maybe 30% is a too good of a discount - that's a depreciation of 10% per year? Is that reasonable?

What I'm actually suggesting is to think in terms of percentage depreciation for the number of years you had the unit.

Good point. Plus take into consideration that replacement models are usually a bit cheaper (than last year's model). But the important consideration for depreciation should be how good is the cam and how much better is the replacement model.
