dvx accessories - compatible with hvx?

Here's a question I'm sure a lot of people ask as they ponder upgrading from their DVX100a to a new HVX200: will my mattebox (chroziel) and century optics lenses (wide angle and telephoto) work on the HVX?

I've not yet set my eyes on an HVX, so I've no idea. I'm hoping I don't need to think about getting all new accessories.

Any ideas?

Mattebox will work. Lenses won't, the Century uses a bayonet mounting system and the HVX's lens is much bigger in diameter than the DVX's is. You could ask Century about re-mounting the lenses, I know that's possible; the question is whether the particular lenses you have will hold up to HD res. That's a question best asked of Century/Schneider.

A zoom controller or remote focus/iris controller would be compatible, as would batteries.

Some of your existing DVX attachments can be remounted into the HVX mount. The quality of the glass will be fine for HD. "HD" Glass is often simply a marketing term but there are some exceptions with optical design. Most of our DVX attachments with the exception of the zoom through converter can be refitted with an HVX lock ring at a cost of around $200 US.
