Special Stripe for 24Pa?

Should one pre-stripe their DV tapes for the DVX100 based on what mode (24p, 60i, etc.) they will use to shoot their project? In other words, can I use a NTSC 60i striped tape to shoot 24Pa? I'm thinking that it should not make any difference? I'm I wrong?

The point of striping tapes to lay down continuous timecode so that if there is a break in between starting and stopping the camera the timecode doesn't reset. The problem wouldn't be because of 60i or 24p but more specifically because of the fact 24p uses non-drop frame tc and 60i uses drop. I believe the only way correctly stripe a tape your planning on shooting in 24p would be to stripe it in 24p.

I wouild agree but I have not tested doing it otherwise.

I have not shot 24p yet and I forgot that this was non drop frame format. So it does appear logical that you must (should) stripe with the correct time code.

Thanks.

I haven't tested it either- though in theory I'd have to think if there were a break in your 24p shooting it would display whatever drop-frame tc that was striped at the time. In other words if there is a break in your 24p timecode the timecode might actually jump backward (ie showing the drop-frame tc in the gap).
