DVX100 Analog Audio Problem

Please help me with problem occured on my DVX100.
At this time i can not output any analog audio from DVX100.
If I play the tape I do not get analog audio out, but thru fire wire is OK.
I do not get audio out in record mode with analog audio cable connected to TV set.

Looks to me that camcorder is stuck in audio IN mode, because I can input analog audio and record it to the tape.

Please if anybody know have to help me, please do so.

I did performed RESET on camcorder with intention to get factory default, but it did not help.

I've got the very same problem. Try plugging in a pair of headphones into the phones jacket. On my DVX it starts giving audio out on the RCA audio out connectors. Seems to be a headphones signal though, since it's easily distorted and its vulume can be controled by the volume buttons on the camcorder.

I don't know exactly what's wrong or how to fix it though so if you or anyone else got any ideas please post.

Thanks.

Please if anybody know have to fix it, please post it.
also do anybody know panasonic service contact, where I can call or e-mail about this problem.
Thanks

First off, reset, does not reset the factory settings. It resets the system and should only be used when technical problems are evident.

To reset the user settings you need to go to the Other Functions screen and select Initial under User File then recycle the power. This is detailed on the bottom of page 46 in the manual. This resets the settings to the factory defaults. I believe you must do this in both VCR and Camera modes for a compete reset.

Check out page 54 of the manual. The audio might not be active, if nothing is connected to the video.

The only service center that can handle the DVX100 is the Elgin, IL service center. The number is 847-435-3500.

Thanks to Scott Chapin for advice, but it did not work.
I tryed to inicialize in camere and VCR mode, but nothing helped to activate analog audio out.

If anybody have some idea have to solve this problem, please let me know.
Thanks again.

I fear that you have a service issue. Call the Elgin service center. They are very helpful.

actaulyl with pana cams, ive noticed you need to manuall set the analogue configs within the menu...

when selecting analogue, make sure its set to in and out, not just in...

I did this with my new DVX and all is well :)

"actaulyl with pana cams, ive noticed you need to manuall set the analogue configs within the menu...

- Exactly what do you mean Peter? I find no such settings in the menu on my DVX100.

Scott Chapin June 22nd, 2003 03:08 PM

Resetting the User File should have reconfigured such settings to the factory default. I don't see anything in my manual that would enable or disable the output.

the cam has to be in VTR mode. let me have a look...

damn i cant find how i did it.. u know i think i might be confusing it with the MX rca outs...

let me double check...

shit i cant find it...

egg on my face :(

no scotts right, i was wrong .. i did confuse it with the mx500 outs... just went thruy the whole thing and couldnt find it...

maybe its set default in/out when its in vtr mode... coz when i tried it to see the image on tv it worked fine for me... but i DID have to change the mx... so thats where i must of gotten confused...

Please accept my apology for the confusion :(

I called to Panasonic 1-800-524-1448 tech. support and I get bad news. Unit has to be serviced by them.

Just for the record.
Both cameras (of Mr.Kulka and Mr.Lundberg) are PAL system.

As a PAL system camera owner i wonder after how many head hours this problem occurred.

Thanks
Johnnie

As a PAL system camera owner i wonder after how many head hours this problem occurred.

My problem occured aprox. 50-60 hours, but hour counter shows 8 hours at this time. I assuming that my hour meter get erased at some point.
As I remember, it occured when I was recording boxing and at same time I was feeding just video feed to projector about 50 meters away from me. My camcorder was running from power supply. As video feed I used RCA jack (composite video out).

Johan Lundberg June 29th, 2003 03:45 PM

That was bad news Peter.
Well I guess I better send it in for service then, my warranty will soon be expired.

And by the way, The hour meter on my DVX is still ticking.

Johan Lundberg June 29th, 2003 03:47 PM

My DVX100 has only done 35 hours, however this is the first time i try the analog audio outputs, so most likely the problem has been there all the time.
