Do you mind me asking this question....

I've asked something similar to this a while back but didn't really get a clear responce.

When you play back your footage on that camera and cue and review (fast-forward and rewind)- while rewinding do you get horizontal bars in which you can see a residual picture from the last frame of footage that was playing before you hit rewind?

Any input will greatly be appreciated for my peace of mind- thanks in advance!

Not that I have observed, but I don't do much shuttling in camera.

I don't see that either... about the only "unusual" thing I've noticed is that if I use the cam as a vcr directly into the tv when I'm shuttling around the audio doesn't come on right away or sometimes at all unless I click "stop" before resuming "play".

hi glenn--that happens on mine sometimes too, though it is intermittent.

Do you think I should run the head cleaner one more time. I ran into problems with my heads- so I ran the tape cleaner and switched to MQs. I don't know if this odditie has anything to do with my heads or just a normal aspect of playback during cuing...then again no one else seems to see it?!

Peter Richardson August 10th, 2003 02:05 PM

Glen--I wouldn't run the head cleaner--too much cleaning can cause excessive head wear. I have only run MQ's in my cam and sometimes have the same probelm you are talking about, so I don't think it's a dirty head issue, just some sort of quirk/defect of the camera. If it's really bad I'd just send the cam into panasonic and have them look at it--give you a little peace of mind.

Peter
