I am getting ready to shoot a music video, and I was asked about it. The question came up as what mode am I shoting it in.

Do I use 24p 24advanced or just plane 60?. I am open to all suggestions. I think we should shoot in 24a. what do you guy thing.

I just shot 2 videos last week, one will be on MTV2 in a few weeks. Shoot 24p setting 5...And never, ever use 60i for anything cinematic unless it's in Spanish...Then it doesn't matter.
Rock on Ozzie...

Theodore, did you Direct the video or what part did you have in the production? I love directing the music videos, personally.. but any role is fun. I'm working on a pre-comp "moch" video for the Linkin Park "Easier to Run" treatment I created for Warner Bros. at the moment, and have done a bunch of other things for national/local acts.

Ozzie, you're somewhat near to me, too. Where are you shooting?

Kevin we just started shooting today. Man it was a long day. We will shoot the other half next saturday. We are shooting a music video for a artist name rickd. He is local hear in columbus and is really doing well. His music is currently heard out in texas and some other places. Another one of his song is doing well here in columbus ohio. I shot using (2) panasonic ag-dvx100 in 24p mode not 24adv.

Ok, we finished half of the video and the next half will be this saturday. I looked at some of the footage and it was really good. We used 4 escalade and man they were sharp. The average cost per vehicle was 45,000. (way out of my range ha ha). The problem I had with some of it was the reflection off the vehicle. I know I'll have to trash some of the shot because of this. Next week we shoot inside and I'm much better with inside shots. Any suggestions for the reshoots I'll have to do for the outside shots. Should I wait for the sun to go down some or start very early to avoid this. I don't think either will do since these cars were so clean. they were all brand new and off the showroom floor. I do have a car mount kit but the dealership was concerned about this. I showed them how it works and they were still concerned( understood). I ordered the kit from filmtools.com great place to do business. ( I get no kickback for this)

so I'm open for suggestions,

Opps the footage from the panasonic ag-dvx100 were totally sweet. That camera rocks.
