it looks aight.. the living room scene doesn't look too well.

that looks pretty good. Did you trasfer that to film? What settings did you use for 24p Advanced? Also, did pay all of those people to be in your film?

No, I didn't do that. I was just posting a link that I found on the official Panasonic DVX page. I don't know why they are hyping it up so much, but they make it sound like this guy is the next big thing. Anyways, I think the footage looks good because I totally forgot it was shot on video---I felt like I was watching a movie.

I think the lighting coulda been a little better like Yang says, but I think it's still one of the best I've seen yet from the DVX.

How do you know this trailor is shot with the pana? This looks like a 2.1:1 aspect is there a lens for that on the cam?

i shot it.. and it's actually 2.35:1
i used the anamorphic lens and cropped it another piece.

Am I the only one who thinks that American Yearbook thing is totally lame? I don't think they did the cam justice, personally. Good on them for making a feature, though.

Shai: Your trailer looks great. I didn't really get an idea of the subject of the film or the story, but the images, music, and editing were particulary poetic. What did you use to do your encoding? We are about to post the trailer to a feature doc shot with the DVX100 and are researching the best way to encode for the web. What was your file size and what encoding did you use? THanks!

P.S. Your trailer reminded me a bit of the films of a new american director named David Gordon Green. I think you'd like his work: George Washington and All the Real Girls, released by Sony Classics (the latter) and I can't remember the former. Def. worth a look though. Good luck on your film.

you are right.. this trailer didn't really functioned as a trailer.. these were more like some of my favorite shots faded in and out of black . . i don't want to tell you how long it took me to edit it.... :P

regarding quicktime encoding.. telling the truth.. i'm still researching this mystery.. so i can't consider myself an authority in encoding. to check the details of this particular file, open it and go to: movie > get movie properties. it's all there.

man! i've seen "all the real girls" here in Berlin at the festival last year and liked it very much!!! thanks for comparing my work with this film.. it's a great compliment for me.

cool, Shai, I'll check out the properties. Definitely check out George Washington, then, an even better film I think. I remembered that Janus Films, a specialty film distributor, released it. You can get the DVD on Criterion DVD, which are incredibly nice DVD's, if not a little expensive. Good luck with your film!
