squeeze mode

Hi Guys

has anybody tried to mask the lcd with tape to make it look like squeeze mode . You still get your 480 lines and then you chop it off in editing? I tried it and was beautiful. I have 100 and not the 100A.
Am i still getting 480lines ?
Please advice
Thanks

Its easier to mask than to in camera, as it give you a little leway on adjusting your headroom etc in post.
