Does the DVX have a similar setting to the XL1's -3 db gain Charles?

no, no minus settings unfortunately.. i use a combination of shutter speeds and ND filters to bring the light down.. but messing with shutters aint the best way to retain the same look..

I was actualy lookin at hte -3 gain on the XL and never really thought of a use for it until this came up..

thing is though, i persoanlly dont have a problem with the DVX image.. i think it looks fine.. noisy at +18 but 12 and 6 look fine when plugged into the Plasma screen.....
