TRAILER NOW ON-LINE

Sorry this is kind of a late post...

I just watched the trailer and it makes me proud to own a dvx. Do you know if they used a 35 mm adapter? That looks really nice! The dof and lighting really made it look cinematic!

Thanks for your comments Daniel!

The Panasonic 16:9 anamorphic converter was used and it was shot in progressive thin mode using the DVfilm recommended settings. The link for these settings is

35mm blow-up tests were conducted to compare between the camera's letterboxing mode and the 16:9 lens. The 16:9 lens made the image much sharper and clearer (although the blowup without it was also OK). The PAL version of the camera was also used.

Because of the anamorphic lens we occasionally ran into trouble with focus problems, particularly in low light when it was difficult to gauge the focus accurately. We didn't always have an external monitor and had to rely on the 4:3 LCD screen. This resulted in the boom occasionally sneaking into shot as it was not visible in the 4:3 but visible when viewing a 16:9 image later on. Otherwise the camera served us well.
