DVX- 100AE Backfocus Problems

I have problems with backfocus on these kameras. Two AE`s and one of the old model. Is there a remedy? I now have to trust the auto fockus.

Are you sure you are having an actual back focus problem? Can you describe
how you test this and why those results lets you believe it is this problem?

If it really is the problem send the camera in for maintainance and explain the problem.

Well... When i zoom inn, take focus and zoom out. The whole picture blures. No doubt about it, there is a backfocus problem. I have now delivered the cameras for Mainainance. But I find it strange and wonder if it is a comon problem for the DVX camera...

There can be several reasons why backfocus changes or is misaligned. Hopefully
they'll sort it out for you. Good luck!

Rob--I'm curious to know how one can develop back focus issues on these cameras. After about a year of heavy use, my DVX100A is showing some backfocus issues as well. How is this possible with this cam?

I'm afraid I cannot answer that with certainty. Why? Because I've never had
it happen myself and I'm by far not a lens technician. However, I seem to
remember someone saying a long time ago that such things may happen due
to (extreme?) temperature / humidity changes for example. I think another
way was if you dropped the camera hard enough... But I could be wrong on
these examples. As with anything I can imagine wear & tear can also have its
toll on such things.

The factory should be able to fix such issues. Good luck!

Hey,

Sorry to say that I have also had a backfocus problem with the DVX-100A.
Maybe someone here can help with this set-up.....

Hi there,

I too am having back-focus issues with my DVX100ae. I think it needs to be sent in for repair.

Does anyone have any idea how much the back-focus may cost to fix on a DVX100a here in London? Will they have to replace the entire lens unit?

Many thanks,
Jack

hard to say what causes it or the causes. But unless you have your own camera shop it's not really something you can fix on a camera like the DVX100- you'd need to send it in.

Noah
